How to get from Shenzhen Bao’an Airport to Futian on Metro Line 11—and what to check after the last train

Metro Line 11 is the straightforward route from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport to Futian. From Airport station (机场), trains toward Hongling South (红岭南) run directly to Chegongmiao (车公庙), Futian (福田) and Gangxia North, with no transfer. The airport’s current Line 11 page lists the stations in that order.

For a late arrival, decide only after immigration and baggage claim. The published timetable lists the last Airport-station train toward Hongling South at 00:02, but it also says to follow the operator’s same-day information. If the metro has closed, check the NA1 airport night bus or use the official taxi rank or designated ride-hailing area.

Taking Metro Line 11

From arrivals, follow signs to the Ground Transportation Center (GTC) and then to Metro / 地铁. The Shenzhen transport bureau’s airport boarding guide places the Line 11 entrance inside the GTC hall, accessible by lifts and escalators.

Use Airport station, not Airport East (机场东). Airport is the Line 11 station connected to the current passenger terminal; Airport East is by the former terminals, according to China Southern’s Shenzhen airport transport guide.

Choose the stop from the hotel’s actual address:

• Chegongmiao: for the western side of Futian around the Shennan Boulevard corridor.
• Futian: for Futian high-speed railway station and the central business district.
• Gangxia North: for the eastern side of the central business district and onward metro connections.

Futian station is not Futian Checkpoint. Futian station is the railway and metro hub in the central business district; Futian Checkpoint is the border crossing farther south. Save the hotel’s Chinese name and address so you can match the correct station.

How late can you rely on the metro?

The airport’s current Chinese timetable gives Airport station’s last departure toward Hongling South as 00:02, but operating times can change or be extended on particular dates. Check the station display or Shenzhen Metro’s current journey information before entering.

A scheduled landing before midnight does not guarantee the connection. Immigration, baggage delivery and the walk to the GTC all reduce the margin. Near closing time, go directly to the station and check the display before buying a ticket.

After the last train

NA1 night bus: check it for the Shennan Boulevard corridor

The transport bureau’s published airport express listing shows NA1 running from the airport through Futian toward Luohu, including these Futian stops:

• Shenhang Building ② (深航大厦②), near Chegongmiao
• Investment Building ② (投资大厦②), in central Futian

That listing gives an airport service window of 22:30–05:00, a ¥25 fare and 20–30-minute intervals. However, the page is dated 2021, so treat these as details to verify at the airport rather than a guaranteed current timetable.

The airport boarding guide places airport express departures on the west platform outside GTC Door 17. Confirm that NA1 is operating, ask when the next bus leaves and show staff your destination in Chinese before buying a ticket. The bus is most useful when the accommodation is close to one of its named stops.

Taxi: direct to a hotel address

The official taxi pickup area is on the east platform outside GTC Door 13, according to the airport boarding guide. Join the managed queue and show the driver the hotel’s Chinese name and full address. Journey time and fare depend on the part of Futian, road conditions and any applicable night charge.

Ride-hailing: meet the car in the assigned zone

The same official guide identifies two ride-hailing pickup areas:

• Zone A: outside on the south side of the GTC, reached via Door 15
• Zone B: the reservation pickup area on GTC Level 1

After booking, follow the app’s assigned zone and level, then match the vehicle plate before boarding. Use the current airport signs because pickup arrangements can change.

Quick choice

• Line 11 is still running: take a train toward Hongling South and get off at Chegongmiao, Futian or Gangxia North, depending on the address.
• Metro is closed and the hotel is near Shenhang Building or Investment Building: check NA1 at Door 17.
• The hotel is elsewhere in Futian, the bus is not running or the wait is inconvenient: use the official taxi rank or designated ride-hailing area.

“Futian” names a large district. The hotel’s exact address—not just the district—is what determines the best stop and whether NA1 is genuinely convenient.
